Benjamin and Elena : Intimate Wedding at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

I first met Benjamin and Elena at a coffee shop in Calgary, we spent over an hour talking about life and everything in between. My impression of them when we parted ways was "wow, I hope I can spend more time with them" because they were so incredibly full of joy and love for each other, they are just people you want to be around. One of the most important things for me to look for in a couple prior to booking me, is their personality. To me, wedding photography is my first love, it's one of the first things in my life where I feel I have endless passion for and it's a feeling I never want to go away or wane over time. To have the opportunity to work with couples like Elena and Benjamin is something I am forever grateful for.

On their wedding day, it was quiet, it was private, it was intimate. And it was a window into the love people around Benjamin and Elena have for them. Every word from the vows they made to each other was felt by everyone in attendance because everyone there understood the significance of the words spoken, this is why small intimate weddings are some of my most favourite to document.

At the end of the day the couple thanked me for being a calming presence that helped put the at ease with some of the uncertainties they had about the day. I honestly never saw that in them because of the excitement Elena always displayed when she saw Benjamin or how incredibly in love Benjamin's eyes were when he looked at Elena. This is the kind of data that proves my theory that when two people are endlessly in love, no bad weather, stained shirt or messy hair can ruin a wedding day. What ultimately will and should be remembered is the love that those who attend bring and the one between the two dedicating their lives to each other.
